Two men are rescued from the Arkansas River. The men were drinking on the 11th Street bridge Thursday night when one of the men fell into the river, officials said. The other man jumped into the water to help, but both were swept away. The men floated about a quarter of a mile until they got to a sandbar in the river, said authorities.

A resident at the Westport Apartments saw the men Friday morning and called for help. The Tulsa Fire Department launched a boat and rescued the men.

At last word they were being checked out by EMSA and will be okay.
